Review by Aerith : Good Over-All Stroller 4 Star

I have three kids under 4, and have been through a variety of strollers. This one is a good over-all stroller. Hands down, it is the easiest folding stroller I have ever seen. It's great for short shopping trips when I'm out with three kids all by myself because I canfold this stroller AND put in my car with one hand while I hold the baby in the other arm. It has some great features, and some features I thought could be improved. Pros: Easiest fold ever Lightweight for the size Excellent sun shade Great recline Straps are easy to adjust Nice size--more substantial than an umbrella stroller, but smaller than a standard stroller Handlebar is a nice height (I'm 5'!0" and it's very comfortable) Cons: Steering and ride are okay. For a standard, small-wheeled stroller, it's fine. Great for the mall, less than stellar at the park or on long walks or anywhere there might be something other than completely smooth pavement. You can't hang stuff off the handlebars without buying those special hooks (not a huge deal, but it's been an annoyance a few times) The storage underneath is a little difficult to get to. Not as bad as other strollers, but could be easier. Like a lot of families with more than one child, I've owned quite a few strollers, and this is one of my favorites. It's the one that I keep in my car all the time for general errand running and shopping. It's not the stroller I take on nature walks or trips to the nature reserve, but over all it's a great general-use stroller.

Review by A. Bennett : Highly recommended 5 Star

I liken buying a stroller to buying a car....actually I think my husband and I spent less time looking for new cars than new baby strollers! Crazy but true! I relied heavily on reviews before we bought our City Mini stroller so I thought I'd return the favor. My criteria (same criteria as almost everybody else) was a lightweight stroller (< 25 lbs) with a somewhat simple folding mechanism that I could do one handed, was comfortable for my baby, handled well, and would stand the test of time for a second child. I wanted to be able to have the stroller recline to flat or almost flat for napping, and have a decent basket. The baby jogger city mini handles almost all of these features perfectly. We purchased this stroller 7 months ago and have used it every day since then with our now 10 month old daughter.PROs: -excellent fold (pretty much legendary)-great handling and ride-seems to be very comfortable for my daughter. She likes to sit completely upright and the new 2010 model has these little velcro straps that prop the seat up to an almost 90 degree angle. She loves it and likes to hang on to the belly bar (sold separately).-Nice, almost flat recline. Changed her diaper in this many times to avoid gross public restroom changing areas. She can nap in this stroller, and she usually hates napping anywhere but her crib.-sturdy foot break. I thought I would want a footbreak I could operate in open toe shoes. After trying a few strollers with a lightweight breaking bar I felt they were rickity and cheap. This is just my impression. Baby Jogger's foot break is stout and I feel confident walking away for a second and don't feel like it's going to roll down the hill!-AWESOME CANOPY. Very necessary in Alabama where we live for our 110 degree humid summers. A Canopy can make or break it and this one is big and nice. Peekaboo windows are also nicely located and plentiful.-One handle bar as opposed to two handles. I can't emphasize this enough....two handles on a previous stroller were really annoying for me. Strollers with two handles seem much harder to push one handed than the one handle bar, in my opinion.-I'm 5'6 and my husband is 6'4 and we both feel comfortable with this stroller.-Others have complained about the size of the basket, but I think it's fine. It's not enormous, but I've taken this stroller to Disney world loaded for the day with no problems. There is a also a nice size mesh pocket on the seat back that can handle a good bit of gear like diapers, wipes, pacifiers, and all kinds of things. I purchased a Sunshine Kids Buggy Buddy for a cupholder and have been very pleased with the whole package now.CONs: -doesn't stand when folded. I didn't realize I would want this until I was folding and loading it into a car with muddy ground. Not a deal breaker but worth mentioning.-foam tires. Air tires...especially the forever air tires of the Baby Jogger City Elite are awesome. They make for a significantly better ride and I almost upgraded to that stroller. The price is twice as much for the Elite and so in the end it wasn't worth it for me. I haven't been disappointed in the tires, but the air would be nice.-No elevated foot rest for smaller babies or napping. This was also almost a deal breaker for me that the Elite has. When my daughter was asleep it just seemed like her dangling feet made her uncomfortable. I seriously almost upgraded my stroller for this reason alone. But I found a way to sidestep this problem very easily. Now keep in mind, this is only a problem when napping in the stroller is completely necessary (like Disney world or an all day trip to the zoo). I normally never even think about it on our daily walks. When I do need her feet to be elevated, you can stuff a blanket through the bottom basket and up into the cloth of the foot rest. This fills up the cloth of the footrest and makes it stick straight out. For the three times I've actually had to do this, it was not worth the two hundred extra for the City Elite.BOTTOM LINE: This stroller is aweosome and I have no regrets. If you have plenty of money, go ahead and get the City Elite model and get all the pros plus cooler peek-a-boo windows, forever air tires, and an elevated footrest. But if you're on a budget, like us, this City Mini is wonderful!

Review by sahar : Baby Jogger citi mini 5 Star

Well, this is by far my first review on Amazon.com ( though i am a very extensive amazon shopper ). I just got my new Citi Mini stroller 10 days ago for my 16mo baby girl. I have to say I LOVE this stroller. I will try to make my review as helpful as i can PROS 1. SUPERIOR fold technique 2. adequate weight for the size 3. great to maneuver even with one hand and with a 27lb baby sitting inside :)and i have tried it a lot in the past 10 days in shopping malls and grocery stores and it goes well in tight places. 4. a relatively big shopping basket that can be accessed from the sides ( so you can do so with seat fully reclining easily ) 5. GREAT canopy that can be used in two levels for different shade coverage and with two transparent windows so that you can check on your baby 6. I got the belly bas ( an extra accessory ) as i had one in my old stroller and it is really great. you can get your kid's toys easily and it has a cover with a zip closure for easy cleaning. 7. The whole stroller cover can be removed and washed ... a great plus CONS 1. a little bit bulky ( but this can partially solved by easily removing the 3 wheels, so you can store easier ). 2. it is considered a bit pricey also considering that you have to get each and every other accessory separately. 3. like all jogging stroller, it doesn't have handles to have your diaper bag or shopping bags on them, but i got external hooks and i can easily hang my large diaper bag and any external shopping bags which add to the basket underneath. Overall, i am very much satisfied with this stroller, it is like a breeze to move :) and has a very good canopy, so if you can afford the extra $ ( and would still be less than the Bob Revolution and also it is not as bulky or heavy as the BOB ), then go for this one, you will not be disappointed :) I hope i was helpful ;)

Review by Mountain Radar : Great for city navigation 5 Star

We've now had this stroller for about a year and used it for our child between 7-19 months. In the middle of that time, we moved from the middle of a dense urban area out to some rural mountains. It was absolutely phenomenal in the city. No space issues at all even when going through subway gates and navigating tight subway elevators. When we went to small, crowded restaurants, the compact folded form fit behind tables or in coat closets. When we were driving, it fit easily in the trunk of our 94 prizm, and it was light enough that carrying baby in one arm and folded stroller in the other to our second-floor walk-up was something we could do regularly. Both I and our child liked the many different configurations for the top shade, while allowed you to account for just about any sun or precipitation condition. In the mountains, the ease of folding/unfolding for car travel has been extremely welcome. Here, we might have wanted slightly bigger wheels than the mini has, but we don't really have problems even going over rough terrain. I'm not sure how it would do for us in heavy snow; we managed to avoid most of this year's craziness. The three minor complaints about the stroller are 1) like other reviewers have said, kids have something of a negative lean, even when the back is adjusted all the way up. My child tends to lean forward to see what's going on. I haven't tried the trick of putting cardboard in to stiffen things up, but have been tempted. 2) The basket is a little low to the ground and the back netting pocket seems a little shallow. While that's a slight negative, the space and weight tradeoff has been well worth it. 3) Yeah, there's no place to put a drink if you have one, which is only an issue because it's a little tough to comfortably navigate around turns with one hand. I don't think it's any tougher than any other stroller, but it can be a little unsettling if you are running errands. We haven't regretted the choice to go with the slightly smaller, but lighter and more compact, stroller at all.

Review by Max : OK 3 Star

It's a good stroller overall. Pros: + I like the way it looks; + I like the way it drives; + folding can really be done with just one hand (but see below); + the shade is awesome; + good value for the money; Cons: - cargo basket, although adequate in capacity, is quite hard to get to - our diper bag (which is actually quite small) just doesn't fit through the openings; - all accessories, like belly bar, rain cover, etc. are extra; - some accessories, like "universal" footmufs are not compatible due to shade essentially being one piece with the back support(I had to improvise a bit to fit mine - Elks&Angels Snuggle Pod); this was my biggest concern, since we live in a cold climate and needed a full-size footmuff to cover the baby (the only footmuff available from bayjogger is a joke, since it's too short to cover the baby all the way and would have required heavy clothes anyway); - when folded, surfaces that your child's sitting on end up on the outside - although not a big deal when it's sunny outside, it becomes an issue in less than ideal weather; also if you need to store the stroller folded (like we do at our daycare center) keep in mind that the handle will be sitting on the ground (unless you store the stroller on it's side, in which case the fabric on one side will get dirty); I pray for no puddles on the floor every time it snows/rains.

Review by Chrissy : Love the concept, not as practical as I thought 3 Star

So I loved this stroller and everything about it from it's look to the shade to the ease of folding and lightweight stature. Unfortunately I wanted this stroller to be my only stroller and thought it could be with the infant carrier bar added on. Then I wanted the parent console for the extra storage and the baby tray for when my little guy grew. When you add it all up the stroller ends up costing close to 350 and with the items added on, the ease of folding decrease. In addition, the infant carrier never felt sturdy to me and one day the front wheel randomly fell off. Also with the infant carrier on it you could tip the stroller over with very little effort and so I could never leave the baby in it without having one hand on the stroller. These were safety concerns to me and I wasn't willing to sacrifice safety for style and ease of use. One other practical thing is that the basket underneath was too small for my diaper bag and hanging the bag on the handle was enough to tip the stroller with my 10 lb baby in it. All that being said, I think this would be a great stroller for an older baby that you don't mind having facing away from you and if you are willing to spend a lot of money. I just wouldn't reccommend using it with an infant carrier. I did return it and get a middle-high end travel system and another light weight stroller for the same total price. One last thing worth mentioning is that this stroller is NOT a jogging stroller even though it is made by baby jogger.

Review by JulesMC "Julia" : Happy with our Purchase 4 Star

We chose the city mini because of it being the absolute easiest stroller to fold. Now after having the baby, I am so glad it is easy to fold, not to mention is folds up so it can easily fit in the trunks of our car - it even went in the front seat once when the trunk was full. We also purchased the City bassinet so we could use the stroller as an infant stroller. Our daughter sleeps in the bassinet by our bed every night and it clips on the stroller very easily if we want to take her for walks in it. We have the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio car seat and it clips on the car seat adaptor with ease. The stroller is light and easy to maneuver. I am 5' 7" and my husband 6' 1" and the handle height is perfect for both of us. We often take the stroller through the grass at the park while walking our dog and it handles the terrain beautifully. Perhaps we would have looked at the other city strollers more carefully for more flexibility in tire size and handle operation, but we are very happy with this stroller. When our daughter is older the canopy is very large to block the sun and it has full recline if she is sleepy. We like that we never had to buy one of those plasticy graco stroller kits and it isn't necessarily making the statement of a bugaboo, but City has a lifetime warranty and is very well built. Best quality for the price - and we were only looking at top end options. Bugaboo, Peg Perego, etc. were other strollers we considered. None fold up as easily so even a new grandma can fold the stroller.

Review by Mieka : City Mini vs Bob Revolution 3 Star

I wanted a universal stroller that I could throw in the trunk to go to the mall, park, and everywhere in between. I read many reviews and was torn between the City Mini and BOB revolution. I really liked how the city mini was much lighter than the BOB. It was really easy for me to carry both my baby and stroller up the stairs at the same time. I would not have been able to do this with the BOB. The one handed fold of the city mini is nice. I could fold the stroller while holding my baby. However, the BOB is just one more step and I usually put my baby in the car seat before putting the stroller away. Th city mini has a sturdier canopy. It has two large peek-a-boo windows with easy to use velcro straps. The BOB canopy is not as nice, but sufficient and comparable in size. I have an older BOB revolution, so the back is not as sturdy and supportive as the 2011 city mini. However, comfort and support can be easily enhanced with the right accessories. My 10 week old could easily and comfortably fit in the seat when using the snuzzler. I needed to use the car seat (with adapter) with the BOB. The BOB has rear-wheel shocks, larger wheels, and pneumatic tires. I had no problems pushing the stroller through non-mowed grass, mud, or gravel. The city mini only has front-wheel suspension and the tires look like they will wear easily. I could push the city mini through non-mowed grass, mud, or gravel, but I prefer to avoid it if possible. One major issue I had with the city mini is that the wheels would get stuck if I did not hit a curb ramp straight on (unless it was very low). I had no problems with the BOB and the BOB could go up any curb ramp at any angle. The basket underneath are about the same size. However, I could not easily access the basket on the city mini due to the stroller frame. I had to squash my small diaper bag through the side to use it at all. I have a little better luck with the BOB basket. The city mini is much more compact when folded down and has a latch. The BOB is a little bulkier and you need to use the leash to secure the stroller. I love how the city mini is lightweight, easy to fold, compact size when folded, and cute. It's a great stroller for everyday use and can easily handle some strolls through the neighborhood (I wouldn't use it frequently on trails). However, I ended up going with the BOB stroller. I needed a stroller that could handle all the curb ramps in my neighborhood which is very important when crossing busy streets.

Review by Shopaholic : New and improved 2011 version.... 5 Star

The product description here on Amazon does not state this, but the stroller I received is the new and improved 2011 model which was just released in October 2010. There are several buying choices for various vendors, but I purchased mine directly from Amazon even though it was a couple of extra dollars. The new strollers will have a large blue sticker on the box stating that it is a 2011 model. Previous model years of the Baby Jogger City Mini had a "slouchy" seat, that many people described as hammock-like for the child sitting in it. The 2011 version of the stroller has a PE board inserted in the seat back, which corrects this problem. The seat back is now firm and doesn't sink in. It seems very comfortable for my 6 month old baby. If you have an older model of the stroller, you can purchase a PE board directly from the Baby Jogger company for approximately $10 or $15. It slides into the seat back, and you can not see it once it is installed. Another improvement in the 2011 model is the addition of velcro straps that enable you to make the seat slightly more upright if you choose to do so. When attached, they pull the seat back about 2 inches forward which enables the child to sit up straighter. Personally, I am not impressed with this new feature. The straps are a bit of a pain to fasten, and you have to detach them before folding the stroller. I really like the features of this stroller. The best thing is the easy fold. It is simple to do with one hand, while holding your child in the other arm. Basically, you grab a fabric handle on the seat and give it a slight tug. The stroller collapses very easily, and with no hassle. There are some good videos on YouTube that show the folding process. The folding mechanism is something you need to see to fully appreciate. I previously had a Maclaren Quest stroller, which had a much more complicated fold that I needed both hands to do. The unfold is almost as easy. I can hold my child in one arm, and pull the stroller out of the back of my SUV and unfold it with the other arm. The sunshade on this stroller is enormous. You can choose to pull it out either 1/3, 2/3, or the full way out. There are also 2 clear viewing windows on the sunshade which enable you to see your child. When not in use, there is a fabric flap that has velcro to hold it in place. The storage basket underneath is a decent size, but because of the structure of the stroller, it is difficult to fit a diaper bag in. You can easily tuck in smaller items like blankets, toys, a jacket, small bags, etc though. Even though the manufacturer does not recommend it, I hang my large diaper bag from the handle. The stroller is VERY stable, and it does not tip backward. With the Maclaren Quest that I previously owned, a small diaper bag made it tip over. On the back of the seat, there is a large mesh pocket that runs almost the full length of the seat. It has elastic on top, so things don't easily fall out. You can put jackets or blankets in this pocket, as long as you fold or roll them first. Small toys fit well too. My only complaint with this stroller is that it does not have a drink holder. Baby Jogger sells a parent console for the handle, but it is rather pricey. I purchased a Sunshine Kids Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy for less than $10 here on Amazon, which solves that problem for a nominal cost. Baby Jogger sells accessories for the stroller such as a child snack tray, or a bumper bar. There is also a car seat adapter available for purchase. Update: We have had this stroller for about 3 months now, and I like it better than ever. We recently took a 9 day cruise with our baby, and brought the stroller along. The large sunshade in the tropical sun was invaluable. My daughter was able to easily nap with the almost flat recline. The easy fold/unfold came in especially handy with getting on and off trolleys, tour buses, water taxis, etc. It definitely is not a good stroller to try to push on a sandy beach, but I wasn't expecting it to be. :) I also purchased the Baby Jogger Adjustable Belly Bar to attach to the front of the stroller. My baby likes to sit up and hold onto the belly bar. I also attach small toys to the bar using these simple toy straps, Baby Buddy Secure-A-Toy, Black/White.

Review by Brad : Almost perfect 4 Star

Pros + Extremely well built. No creaks or wobbles. + Large, positively positioning canopy. The canopy folds nicely. + Super simple fold. You don't need an engineering degree to figure out how to fold this thing. + One handed, light steering. Very agile even with one hand. + Not too large. You won't block the whole supermarket aisle. + Solid, one foot brake. A metal shaft positively locks the wheels (as opposed to a friction style brake) + Infinite seat back adjustment. The back goes almost completely prone. + Easily adjustable harness. + Not bulky when folded. + Wheels are just good enough for going over park terrain. Don't expect to go over anything rougher than gravel though. Cons - No autolock mechanism when folded. - Difficult to access the bottom carry basket. - Suspension is on the front only. - Tires are foam. - When folded the seat of the stroller faces out. - Harness buckle is a little too easy to undo. After much agonizing and research we settled on the City Mini. We needed a stroller that would fit in our small hatchback trunk and be versatile enough to use for many years. Other brands had excellent build quality but were large while most compact strollers were way too complicated and felt fragile. The city mini was the best compromise between size and solidity. One common complaint about the city mini is that it doesn't come with accessories. We actually found this to be a plus as we didn't want a bumper bar or rain cover at the time of purchase. And at about $230 this stroller is at the low end of the price spectrum for a stroller of this quality. Having used the city mini for 7 months now I can confidently say the city mini is an amazing, versatile stroller that I can confidently recommend to anyone.
