Review by Mom of Two under Two : Big, but turns on a dime one-handed
I loved my single BOB for its superior quality & ability to turn so there was no question that I was going to get a duallie once baby #2 arrived. I also enjoy being able to workout with both of my little men! The duallie turns just as well as a single & isn't much heavier either. It is unfortunately a lot more bulky. It is surprisingly smaller than it looks as it can fit through your standard size doorway, but oftentimes tight stores are difficult to maneuver in (i.e. Michaels or Party City). I use this stroller as my every day stroller because with the car seat adapter my boys are separated enough so that the older one cannot reach the baby. I also use it for running & it's fantastic. There is nothing better when it comes to jogging strollers.
Review by Amy Jahnke : LOVE this stroller!!!
I'll start with the seats: they have completely changed how the seats are designed. They are far more supportive and have these really nice cushion-like supports all over them. There's even extra padding for a headrest. They sit at a much higher angle than previous models. There is even a lumbar support. The recline feature has also been revamped and is much simpler. No more buckling and unbuckling. The seat does not go completely flat, but it goes flat enough, even for an infant. Because of the change of design in the footrest area - there is actually more leg room. The 5 point harness is padded where it needs to be and easily adjustable. Something I especially like is they've added a little buckle at the top where the harness fastens to seat allowing you to move it higher or lower, depending on the size of the child. The canopies: these things are HUGE! The best I've come across. Also redesigned in the 2011 model. They are now ratcheting and seem to go even further forward. The peek-a-boo window on the top now covers the entire top of the canopy - allowing you to see the whole child. The peek-a-boo window cover rolls up and tucks into a handy pocket on top of the canopy. Another great new feature is 2 velcro straps that have been added to the canopy - these allow you to pull up the excess material when the canopy is all the way back - giving an older child more head room. The ride: It is so smooth. It's like pushing air - seriously. And the shocks make it just as nice for the passengers to ride in as it is for the parents to push. The wheels are large and the rims are now made of a heavy duty plastic instead of bendable metal (and my husband says they look much "cooler"). Another feature I like is that they have angle the air valves so it's really easy to attach a pump to put air in if necessary. Front wheel still locks the same way, or swivels. And the back wheels easily pop off for flatter storage. The footbrake is easy to use - a simple bar - you either push down or lift up. Transporting the stroller: The fold on the BOB is so simple and easy. One feature that they changed is the "leash". It used to be this long yellow thing that just got in the way. Now it's short, attached to the handle bar, and doubles as a snap to lock the stroller closed when folded. No more unexpected stroller openings as you are trying to load it in - a great new feature! Opening the stroller is still the same: shake it out - nice and easy! It weighs around 32/33 pounds. I don't even notice the weight really because I'm used to my tandem stroller that weighed 46 pounds. And let's face it - unless it's an umbrella stroller - all doubles have some weight to them. Storage: the storage basket has also been redesigned. Instead of a simple square - they have added raised sides to it - allowing the basket to be deeper and packed higher. Also, with the "leash" thing no longer connected to the brake - I can easily toss my diaper bag in. Overall: I love the new design. They've changed the fabric and it is much nicer. It also appears to repel water & moisture well. I think BOB did a good job of addressing issues with their prior models and making a great, user friendly product. My only complaint: I wish a belly bar/snack tray was included. About me: I'm a mom of 2 kids - a 22 month old toddler and an 8 month old baby. My kids love this stroller. They look so comfortable and happy riding in it. I carefully researched my purchase before shelling out this amount of money. I compared everything from the Baby Trend Jogger, the Bumbleride Indie Twin, Mountain Buggy, Baby Jogger Citi Mini/Elite. And overall, I really felt I got the best deal for the money with the BOB. They offer a 5 year warranty on the frame of the stroller which I think says a lot about their confidence in their product. Everything else (all the other parts and fabric) and warrantied for a year. I actually purchased an earlier model BOB a little before this one. I couldn't stand it. And my husband didn't like it either. The only thing we could say was that it was easy to push. They have made such a HUGE improvement with the redesign of the 2011 model. I'm so glad I gave the BOB a second look. I'm so happy with my purchase and feel my money has been very well spent.
Review by Evan Finn : Awesome Stroller!
We went back and forth on whether to buy this stroller (we already have a large collection of strollers). Ultimately, we bought it- and I am so glad we did! We got the stroller for our 3 year old and newborn daughters- they are now 5 years old and 2 years old - and the stroller still performs and looks brand new. The stroller has come in handy in SO many situations, and my favorite part is that it is virtually indestructable. In fact, I have ridden in the stroller with my youngest daughter while my older daughter pushed us around! For a stroller to be able to carry 140 pounds on one side, and 30 pounds on the other, and not tip...well, that is just pretty awesome! Definite recommend and well worth the money!
Review by Katherine D "Katie Baby" : Baby Planner Review
After six months of use as a full time nanny/baby planner:Pros: - Super easy to push, even with toddlers - Turns on a dime - Amazing shade - Waterproof material - Front lockable swivel wheel for jogging/tough terrain - Peekaboo windows, but with loud velcro - 5pt harness - (just barely) fits through standard doorwaysCons: - Heavy, heavy, HEAVY!!! Do not expect to be easily whipping this stroller around, it weighs a ton. - The fold is huge, which is to be expected with this type of stroller, but makes it hard to fit in a standard sized car. Between the weight and size of the fold, it is hard to carry it up or down even a few stairs. - It is a three part fold that requires two hands, esp annoying when you have a baby old enough to sit in the seat but not old enough to sit completely unassisted on the sidewalk - The handlebar is not adjustable. I am tall, so this is particularly annoying to me. - The basket is big, but it is hard to get anything big in it. There is a strap that goes right in between the two seats which makes fitting a medium to large diaper bag in it hard, and ridiculous to try and maneuver out while you are squatting on the ground in a foot of snow - No adjustable footrest. The slope down is fine, but I imagine this will be uncomfortable when the littler one hits 12 months. Also it goes into a V, this is annoying for my tall 26mo old who has to keep his legs moved sideways or stick one leg over the side. - Although I love the canopies, when only one section is open the material of the other one hangs down to block my 26mo old's view or not let him rest his head depending on which section is closed - Tall 26 month old is already getting too tall. He has room to canopy top, but not on the seat back. - Manual strap recline - super annoying, but versatile - It has a shock system, but it makes the stroller incredibly bouncy, so the bumps are not hard, but they do shake your kids sillyBUY IT: if you live in a rural area and can just roll it into your garage, you want to jog with your two kids (both at LEAST 6mo old, best if 12mo and up), or you frequently encounter rough terrain with wide paths.DO NOT BUY: if you have big children, live in an urban area, or have to carry it over more than four stairs
Review by Lila : New BOB Duallie vs. Old BOB Single vs. Bumbleride Indie Twin
New BOB Duallie vs. Old BOB Single vs. Bumbleride Indie TwinI adore the old BOB single. It is indestructible, easy to clean, wonderful infant seat adapter, and suspension system. I taught Stroller Strides Fitness classes for one year using the BOB single, which means I used it "Heavily" to say the least. My old-model-single is now 3 years-old and still as sturdy and wonderful as the day I opened it. With Baby #2, I purchased a bumbleride indie twin. The bumbleride perks: the styling is beautiful and the infant car seat adapter is included. Also, incredible sunshades. Everything else was a HUGE disappointment. I paid more and got less. Without a BOB-like suspension, this stroller is difficult to push with 2 children in it, and especially difficult if only one child is in it. I felt like I was pushing a loaded-down shopping cart, requiring both hands. It has many 'adjustable' features, but this translates into a shaky-bumpy-rattling ride. I was so dissatisfied that I decided to purchase a new BOB Duallie...New 2011 BOB Duallie is AMAZING compared to bumbleride. If you intend to actually jog or walk for fitness you want a BOB. It is the only stroller with the suspension system. Unlike the bumbleride, I can push the Duallie with one hand! Even make turns with one hand! The push of this stroller is truly unparalleled!!! It rides smooth even if I am only pushing one child. It does not come with infant seat adapter, however, I feel completely comfortable with my 4 month-old in the stroller w/o car seat adapter. The best improvement is the structure in the seats. The waist strap wraps around my 4 month-old, securing her in place. With the suspension system, I don't have to worry about the ride being too bumpy for her brain.I have only one dissappontment with the 2011 BOB Duallie over the older BOB single... The Sunshades!!!! My initial reaction was "CHINSTZY" and really, that is the best word for it. Come on, BOB! The new sunshade frame is ridiculously flimsy and the fabric is thin and paper-like. The logo is printed rather than embroidered like the old model. I would expect that BOB will have many complaints about this being easily damaged, but it must have been worth the profits. This is the only negative feature, though, and I still rate it at a 5 star. In closing... *BOB is the ultimate because of it's suspension system and sturdy frame + LOVE the new structured seats. *Feel great about buying a used older-model because they will last a lifetime and hold great resale value(if you can find one). *First-time parents...If you get a BOB single with infant seat adapter, you truly DO NOT need another stroller. Put all your money into this set-up and a cheapo umbrella stroller. *Don't waste your money on a bumbleride. It is overpriced... and it waaaay under delivered for this customer.Best Stroller Wishes to all! ;)
Review by lawyer_man : I have to admit - this thing is nice...
A couple years ago, I poured over many reviews and we ended up getting an Instep, which unfortunately wasted no time displaying all of the negative qualities that the reviews had warned me about.I figured all the people raving about the $650 strollers did so merely because they wanted to self-justify their decision to spend such an exhorbitant amount on a freakin stroller. So we tried in vain to make due with the clunky, squeaking, broken-grocery-cart-always-turning-left inferiority of the other brand. I didn't want to admit that it so quickly deteriorated on me.But now I'm convinced -- from my experience with the BOB, and from looking at the prices of "premium" brands, a quality stroller just can't be made and sold new for less than about $250 for a single and $500 for a double. The metals are more solid and the front wheel swivels perfectly -- you can start pushing when it's facing sideways. The shocks work well (our toddler fell asleep on the first walk with the Bob Duallie, the first time she'd fallen asleep on a walk for well over a year). The proof is in the pudding. Be sure to take older reviews with a grain of salt as the 2011 SE model has several improvements that you can find listed elsewhere. In the end I purchased from BabyEarth.com, an Amazon vendor. How was that? BabyEarth.com sent me an immediate email to confirm order, then another email the next day with fedex tracking. Then the item arrived as described -- a perfect transaction. Of course I have no trouble recommending buying directly from Amazon in general as well. Here's to a healthier family...
Review by S. Anderson : Very Happy!
This stroller is everything I wanted and needed in a jogging stroller. It glides smoothly while jogging, a little too smooth at times, you definitely want to wear the safety strap on your wrist. It works great on trails and even the beach, recently spent 5 days on the beach and we used it everyday. the canopy is very large and kept the sun out of my kids faces very well, they also have straps to pull up the slack of the canopy not in use which is one of the main reason i picked this stroller (My two y/o is very tall so his head hits the canopy on all the other jogging strollers he still almost hits but the straps help by giving him an extra two inches). the seats recline almost all the way down so my 6 month old could take a nap while we were swimming and playing. I am in love with the break, it is a large bar that is very easy to set and un set. I had a cheaper single jogger that was a pain to put the break on and eventually it broke off. The basket is large enough to store just about anything you would need, we put a medium size (soft sided) cooler, 4 big beach towels, a small bag with diapers and wipes and beach toys easily in the bottom. The width of the stroller is also very nice because it fits very well through just about any door, not even my daily use double stroller can do that. As far as folding up compact it fits pretty well in the back of my minivan but am pretty sure it doesn't fit in our Scion TC. So far I have no complaints about this stroller.
Review by C. Mason : Gave me my FREEDOM!!
Ok, I must admit that I am a full fledged "BOB Snob"!! I got my first BOB Revolution SE (single) back in 2008 when my older daughter was about 9 months old. I fell in love immediately. When we found out baby #2 was on the way, I had no doubt we were getting the duallie. I got the BOB Revolution Duallie 2010 in orange. When the 2011 models came out, I wanted the duallie in black, I couldn't help myself! So, I sold the orange one to a good friend (she got a great deal too), and got the 2011 in black. Let me tell you, there is no other stroller that compares. I have owned the Graco Duo and I HATED it with a passion, sold it as a steal. I also own a Joovy Caboose Ultralight and a Baby Jogger City Micro, but nothing compares to my BOBs. It doesn't feel like you're pushing anything at all. The handling is out of this world, so easy to turn and maneuver in tight spaces. It handles different terrains brilliantly, my two kids are so comfortable no matter where we are. We are taking it along with us on our vacation to the beach in a couple of weeks. I could not imagine going for walks on the beach with any other stroller. Seriously, if you are thinking about an all-terrain stroller, there is nothing like a BOB. You will not regret it, you might just fall in love with it!!
Review by Sarah : Love the BOB!
I recently purchased the BOB Revolution SE Dualie Stroller in orange an LOVE it. It is wonderful. The ease with which I can push it is amazing. I have not used it a whole lot yet and am still getting used to it but I love it so far. I have gone running on a trail near my home with it and it was more than easy to navigate the path. It is definitely big and takes up the better part of the back of my SUV but, like I said, it is nice. I feel that any double stroller out there is going to be heavy/cumbersome no matter what, but this one makes life so much easier as far as the ease of maneuvering it. I have not been to the mall yet with it, and have heard that it is difficult to use b/c of how wide it is, and there have been complaints that you cannot get through narrow aisleways but I don't plan on taking my kids shopping often enough that it would affect me by purchasing it. We call it "The Machine" :) It has some serious heavy duty shocks on it...I am not an avid runner, just do it casually to try and loose baby weight, but I can imagine how wonderful it would be for someone who runs a lot on rough terrain. I can't wait to take it on vacation this year and see how it does on the boardwalk and on other trails we walk/run on. The only complaint I do have is that the company should sell it with a tray that holds drinks/personal items. I find it absolutely ridiculous that I spent $630 on a stroller that doesn't come with the tray on the handle. You have to buy that separately...kinda crazy given you have put out that much money for it. Overall, very nice stroller.
Review by Joshua Mandeville : BOB revolution SE Duallie stroller
Recently purchased this stroller to use with my newborn and 2 year old. The stroller is great! It turns on a dime and folds up relatively small for a double stroller. My husband took my 4 year old and 2 year old out for a run and said it was super smooth and easy to push. The kids loved it! My only complaint is that the handle bar is not adjustable. FYI: Make sure you order the NEW 2011 Car seat adaptor for this stroller. The car seat adaptors currently being sold on amazon are not compatible with the new 2011 BOB strollers. I found this out the hard way and had to return the car seat adaptor I purchased.
Review by Robstg : Great Stroller
Great stroller. Solid construction. Lightweight for a dual. Super easy handling, fits through "regular" sized doors. Some isles in some stores won't be able to accommodate this stroller... But, hey, some stores can't accommodate a single stroller... I just don't go shopping in those stores with a kid!The stroller is a bit bulky to handle when storing in the van, but otherwise a joy - would not recommend this for anyone with a compact (or smaller) vehicle. I would highly recommend for someone with a hatch or tailgate and LOTS of trunk space. Also purchased BOB Infant Car Seat Adapter for Duallie Stroller, Silver (but not from Amazon, as they don't ship this to Canada) and a Graco Snugride 35 which fit like a charm, even though BOB does not state specifically this car seat. I would recommend this combo to anyone with a toddler and another on the way!Easy assembly, (took me 5 minutes to unpack and assemble)and packaging was reasonable - product well protected.Amazon shipping was within estimated time of arrival, but shipping to Canada added an extra expense of $123 (Import Fees Deposit) above the S&H of $24. All in all, it was still a lower price than purchasing from a Canadian e-store.
